Now for my next trick…

You’re busy so I’ll get right to it. I’ve started a brand new newsletter called Politics on Purpose.

Politics on Purpose is an advocacy and strategy newsletter for those who give back, not up — written by Amy Whited, a lobbyist, and non-profit Executive Director, based in Austin, Texas.

Please clap (gosh I liked Jeb!).

I’ve also launched this shiny new personal website, what do you think? Everyone working in public affairs or an external-facing industry should have a personal landing page - but we’ll dive into that on another day in another post.

Last year I declared 2024 to be the year of the Substack, and I was right. Everyone is writing there now, it feels very Wordpress circa 2010 and I am here. for. it. But this time last year my home was ripped to the studs and I had just started a brand new job - the timing wasn’t right.

Now that it’s 2025 and we’re all getting our acts together, this is the year of (my) Substack and I really hope you’ll check it out and let me know what you think.

A bit of housekeeping:

There is no need to download an app or jump into yet another social media space. Politics on Purpose lives on Substack but if you sign up you’ll be emailed the newsletter each week like any other newsletter.

If you like what see - there is a paid option as well with more behind the scenes content, the occasional interview, and templates and tools to use in your organization to level up your advocacy and strategy game. Again, these items will be delivered directly to your inbox, no reason to stay logged into Substack if you’d prefer not to.
